I love Jacqueline Wilsons books especially the hetty feather seieres as I've always felt she was writing about me when I was younger as the story follows a young founding (fostered or orphaned ) girl in Victorian England who had dreams of finding her mother the main story line but the most important part to me is that she was a young ginger foundling with a dream of writing books much like myself, these book meant so much to me still do. So today I thought I'd try to plan a trip to the foulding museum in London when I went on the website I found that the logo it a split in half coin this was used as a common foundling token. In this case half of a coin the mother would keep one half and the child the other so if the mother ever found herself in the capability to care for the child she could claim them back. It was after seeing this that I realised by accident that I had given my mum a similar gift to this token. As I have half of a coin on a necklace and she has the other half. I'm extremely excited at this as it is such a important book and a part of history that I feel connected with, but also a little sad as I have cut contact with my mum. This might seem random to others but is very important to me.
Wolf half coin my one other half coin an actual foundling token that was left at the foundling museum in London.
